I would like to Ask you one more thing
my baby was having pnueomonia during her birth
and She was kept in NICU under the treatment and she Recovered now.
When I visited the hospital for a general checkup
Dr prescribed to give her mucolite if i found her having cough and cold...
there is no nasal congestion, she as cough and she pukes out mucus after sometime giving mucolite
and she is sleeping well and taking a breastfeed
is that okay? or so I need to worry anything about?
Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough and Cold should be treated only after a proper examination by a doctor after diagnosis.it may be any infection or allergy.it is not so related to food items but seasonal changes may aggravate.
if with fever too ,calpol can be given three times a day.give steam inhalation to relieve blocked nose and nasoclear drops can also be used multiple times.
Cough Syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough .self medication is not advisable. if the cough is productive you can give ascoril-ls syrup for now only n continue in proper doses only after doctor's guidance.avoid refrigerated items and give only simple home-made preparations as required.child will gradually begin to eat as JCsymptoms resolve.
