A. It’s common for babies to become cranky in the evenings, a phase often referred to as "witching hour," where they may feel fussier and more difficult to settle. If taking your baby for a walk helps calm her, it's understandable that you would want to replicate this soothing effect during the winter months when it's colder outside. Since going outdoors is not ideal during chilly weather, you can try other soothing techniques inside the house. Consider creating a calm and cozy environment by dimming the lights, playing soft music, or using a white noise machine to mimic the peaceful sounds that usually calm her. Gentle rocking, a warm bath, or offering a feeding can also provide comfort. Additionally, ensuring your baby is well-fed and not overtired can reduce fussiness. If she enjoys movement, try holding her in a carrier and walking around indoors, or gently bouncing her in a swing. Always keep an eye on her comfort levels and adapt accordingly. If her crankiness persists or becomes more severe, it’s a good idea to consult a pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues.
