Q.

My baby boy is 5 months old. His head and forehead are always very hot . I was advised by many to apply castor oil on scalp daily and massage it slightly..Is it true that castor oil really helps in absorbing the heat of the head...is this safe to use or does it causes any side effects...Please suggest me the best...

A. due to thin skin in babies it feels hot without fever..keep hydrated Mother's milk is a complete food for the baby that is why it is always recommended to exclusively breastfeed the baby till first six months post birth. The initial portion contains the watery foremilk that takes care of hydration and the later portion that is the hind milk takes care of nutrition and is rich in fats. So there is no requirement of giving any kind of juice or water to the baby
