Q.

my baby 9 months old.tonsils are swollen due to cold . is this normal.

A. yes This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations . For cold you can give syp allegra 2.5 ml twice daily to the child. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful. Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honey can dbe added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warm water to drink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor paracetamol for fever and pain.

Yes sometimes you can face this kind of a problem with kids so it would be advisable for you to consult your doctor for a treatment to follow which is going to be beneficial specially during this time because cold and cough are very common issues that you can face with your child in the growing years And specially when the weather changes
