Q.

My 7days baby girl had a thyroid test done today and TSH level is 8.609. Is this normal for a newborn baby? wt is the normal level of TSH in new born babies this??Does this mean my baby have a thyroid ??? plzz answer I'm just worried about my baby bcaz I'm having thyroid and taking 25mcg thyroxin tablets

A. Please consult your doctor they’ll be able to clarify all your doubts if this figure is above the referral range then yes it is THS positive and hypothyroid further your doctor is going to advise you on that and it has got no connection with you being thyroid positive but it’s best to connect with your doctor to have a clarity
