A. Are you sure that there is no naso lacrimal duct obstruction for the baby? Please consult and ophthalmologist whenever the baby is having that discharge and then decide accordinglyWrite Your Answer Here

A. Conjunctivitis in your newborn baby can be caused by a blocked tear duct or a bacterial or viral infection - this is known as conjunctivitis. If your child is experiencing any symptoms of discharge, redness or swelling of the eye/s, please contact your midwife, health visitor or GP.
