Q.

my 3.5month old baby having swelling in leg after vaccination, it is winter here in Delhi, what should I apply on vaccination area for reduce swelling? cold pack is safe in winter? or we should apply only cold water

A. Post vaccination swelling may be a common thing specially after DPT vaccine which may be painful for two or three days and the swelling may remain even up to month so if it is not causing any pain or other symptoms nothing to f worry. Swelling can be reduced by giving ice fomentation locally and paracetamol can be given for fever or pain. Thrombophobe ointmentg can be applied in acute pain and swelling .

A. hi usually it alright by own. so as such no need to worry give peracetamol drops if there is pain. dress your child in loose fitting Cotton clothes. keep that area clean.
