A. Hello, It's often due to fluid retention, abnormal growths, constipation, or pregnancy. Unintentional weight gain can be periodic, continuous, or rapid. Periodic unintentional weight gain includes regular fluctuations in weight. One example of unintentional weight gain is experienced during a woman's menstrual cycle. When You Might Need a Dermatologist A rash or other skin problem covering more than 10% of your body. Sores, ulcers, unusual lesions or growths that don't go away after a week or two. Other symptoms that could indicate a more serious issue, such as fever, joint aches, muscle pain, difficulty swallowing, or can't sleep.
