I'm 5 months pregnant, and I have a pet rottweiler of 9months, people often tell me to keep him away for obvious reasons cause of his fur, but his very close to me, does petting a dog really be harmful?

If you aren’t allergic to the dog and if the dos is well maintained with regards to hygiene and also vaccination then you can have it with you

as such there isn't any problem.
but better to keep distance ,I mean stay away from it as you are pregnant.
take healthy and well blanaced diet
keep your body well hydrated
maintain good hygiene.
