I haven't got periods post 6 months of delivery. can I take emergency contraceptive pills?

A. If you had unprotected intercourse and if you are afraid that you might get pregnant then you can take emergency contraceptive pill preferably as early as possible or within 72 hours. After you take this pill you have to be extra careful because you can get your cycle at any time and you have to keep using contraception until you get regular cycles because the irregularity might lead to an accidental pregnancy

A. Hi See a lot of women do not get their periods for one year or two 1 1/2 years also after their delivery and that’s completely normal so if you think that you want to take a contraceptive pill or something to avoid pregnancy for the time being you can’t take it if it was an unprotected intercourse but not getting your period is very common after delivery
