Q.

I have hypothyroidism. And i recently delivered a baby boy via C section.. I wanted to know will thyroid be passed on to my child? or do I have to get his Blood test done ?

A. If you have a genetic background for hypothyroidism, yes, there are some chances that it may get seen in your baby also. So you need to have regular check up for that

A. even I have thyroid.. and my doctor has told to get thyroid checked for my 1 month old son .. so go ahead and get it checked or ask your doxy

A. A lot of mothers have thyroid during the time of pregnancy and it does not affect the child ever because thyroid is not something which is contagious it is not going to affect your child in any negative manner so please do not worry about it
