Q.

I am 7 months pregnant, and I am diagnosed with a gestational diabetes with fasting max 137 and post meals max blood sugar reached was 176, after which my doctor has put me on glycomet 500mg twice a day and on 5 units of insulin before dinner. I want to know is it safe? And will this diabetes go after my delivery since I am on insulin now I am little worried that it is going to be for life now. Kindly advice. Thanks

A. Hello mam Gestational diabetes can happen due to placental hormone and low functioning of pancreas.. don’t worry if u have good control on your suagr levels with better and stricter diet , the diabetes would go away post baby birth Have small and frequent meals Include more proteins like daal, boiled sprouts, paneer, oats, dry fruits, brocolli, beans, egg white in the diet and reduced the intake of white rice and wheat have less of white rice and take jowar aata roti or oats and wheat roti No fruit juice.. u can take 100gm of fruits in a day but fruits like muskmelon, banana, pineapple, papaya, mango .. water 2-3 litre per day If not on bed rest for for 20 mins post lunch and dinner but after 15 mins
