Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice (brown or white)
- 1/2 cup split yellow moong dal (yellow lentils)
- 1/2 cup mixed dry fruits (almonds, cashews, walnuts, raisins, dates)
- 1/4 cup roasted gram (chana dal)
- 1/4 cup dried coconut (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (optional, for added health benefits)
Instructions:
1. Rinse the rice and moong dal thoroughly under running water and drain.
2. Spread the rice and moong dal on a clean cloth or tray and allow them to air dry for a few hours or overnight. This step helps in roasting the grains evenly.
3. Heat a pan over medium heat and dry roast the rice and moong dal separately until they turn golden brown and aromatic. Allow them to cool completely.
4. In the same pan, dry roast the mixed dry fruits, roasted gram, and dried coconut until lightly golden. Remove from heat and let them cool.
5. Once all the ingredients are cool, transfer them to a blender or food processor. Grind them into a fine powder. You may need to grind in batches if your blender is small.
