Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along wuith decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr 2 m old girl3 years agoA. It Mostly could be 3 to 5 days if you are giving proper medicines to the child then it is going to take a minimum of 3 to 5 days to subside completely any infection any issue does take a minimum of three days to 5 days to subside completely
