hii.. my baby is 8 months old... nd she is suffering frm cold .. aur mne usko amoxyllein bhi di 5 days k liye.. khasi k liye asthakind di... situation better hai phle se... but congestion ab bhi hai... nd ye steam nhi leti hai so plss help me what to do

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prehuscribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dorse can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
