hi sir my daughter while pooping white sticky substance is there in poop it's look like exactly mucus while we have cold...she had runny nose and cough at night morning I have given karpoora leaves for cold..is mucus is coming out .pls tell me

A. mucus in the stool is very common phenomenon. it is usually present due to the throat mucus / thick saliva as well as respiratory secretions which pass on from respiratory tract (parts of nasal cavity , oral cavity and throat) to the gastrointestinal tract by swallowing and then comes out through the anal canal mixed with the stool. it may be present in less quantity during regular times and would be in more quantityt during allergy as well as cough and cold in the child. mucus in the stool is alsof associated with gastrointestinal infections as a less constipation as well as indigestion. treatment is usually given according to the cause
