Hi I am mother of 3 months old baby I got chicken pox can I breastfeed while having chicken pox? Will it affect my baby and chances for him to get the chicken pox ?

A. Namaste Mom, Though breast milk can be fed but would be ideal if you could pump the feed and then give rather than giving it directly as such , make sure you avoid any contraindicated medication during lactation,

Well actually chickenpox is contagious if you continue to feed the child while having chickenpox a child is also going to get it from you and it will be very difficult for you to manage because it’s very difficult to manage small child with chickenpox so you have to avoid feeding or getting close to your child till the time you do not get right completely

A. yes you should breastfeed bcz chicken pox virus spread so quickly that your child might get infected so it's important to be with baby and if also make things easier
