Q.

Hi all.. My baby is now six months old . doctor recommend some solid foods for her and also recommend to avoid sugar and salt up to 1 year.can i use jaggery or jaggery powder for puree and ragi porridge...

A. Yes can be added or naje a paste of fresh dates and that can be added while cooking sweet meals for the baby and avoid salt as per advise of the doctor

A. currently avoid, you may use the same after couple of months. Babies doesn't know sweet or salt taste unless we introduce it. So do not worry the food is bland. tc..

A. Babies older than one year can be given jaggery. Jaggery powder is a good source of iron. One serving of jaggery powder contains 0.5mg of iron. Jaggery powder contains phosphorous and calcium in a large amount, which are minerals essential for the development of strong, healthy bones of the babies.
