Hi, 8months old baby is suffering from cold, cough, stomach upset,fever and he is also having phlegm. I am using cheston cold and neopeptyne. can anyone suggest drops for phlegm?

A. This can occur due to either allergy or infection and some times due to weather changes and temperature variations around the child. For cold you can give syp allegra 2.5 ml twice daily to the child. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops every three hourly for nasal blockage and simple cough and cold. Indirect steam will also help. Go for home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day.(honey can be added after 1 year age) Give warm water to you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no need to to go for fixed feeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weight of the child is within normal limits . also if the weight gain of the child every month is normal then no need to worry regarding the pattern of breastfeeding yrink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor For fever and pain give paracetamol.
