Q.
hello, my 19month child suffers from cold and running nose sometimes in night. what is the best medicine for the same? presently I am giving Atarex syrup 2.5ml to 3ml? is it adequate? is there any other medicine specially for cold? kindly suggest

Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever whvkich needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
