hello, my 19month child suffers from cold and running nose sometimes in night. what is the best medicine for the same? presently I am giving Atarex syrup 2.5ml to 3ml? is it adequate? is there any other medicine specially for cold? kindly suggest

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever whvkich needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
