Q.

hello expert,my baby is 1 yr 2 months old.since morning he has a fever.i gave him paracetamol 3 times.but now his temp is increasing.what to do ? how to reduce the temp till morning.in morning I will take him to the doctor.but it is only 12.45.please suggest

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mfefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with luvkewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symxptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .
