Q.

hai , I have 1 month baby boy .... I am taking medication from 8 years for hypothyroidism... during pregnancy my doctor suggested increased dosage... after delivery ob gyn suggested to continue the same dosage .... after one month( after delivery) I got the blood test report 0.09 mIU/L.. ... this over dosage of thyroid medication effect the baby ( cause of breast feeding)?? pls give the reply and is it required to take the test for baby also ?? pls suggest

A. Hello good afternoon !! Depending on the reports and your level sometimes doctors prescribe dosage, no need to worry about feeding while taking medication. Thyroid,blood sugar levels must be maintained a medication in these cases doesn't effect. Yes you need to go for thyroid test for baby too not because of having medicine Just to confirm whether baby have thyroid or not while you carrying as you have been detected thyroid since before pregnancy.
