Q.

#asktheexperts Thea birthweight is 3.3 kg on 15th April this year. Today I weighed her and she is 6.7 kg. She will complete 4 month tomorrow . Is the progress less , normal or more?

A. dear parent, weight of 6.7 kg is a healthy weight for 4 months old baby considering a birth weight of 3.3 kg. baby should double the birth weight by 6 months which your baby has already achieved.

A. When Thea was 3 months, she weighed 5.9 to which doctor said she has gained 200 gm less than the usual and would think if need to start solid or not in next visit which is when she completes 4 months. I was so stressed out that I started supplementing it with formula thinking she is not feeding breast milk well. My doctor is very good , hearing such thing from her made me really concerned
