#asktheexperts my baby is 11 months crossed and can we use nebulizer for her, due to cold she is opening her mouth and sleeping inorder to breathe or should I use nasal drops pls suggest me. Usually how many days it will take to get rid of cough and cold

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy2 years agoA. you can give nebulization with ns bottle that is normal saline water. this will help in decreasing both dry cough as well as will help in decreasing the mucus present in the throat of the child.
but other nebulization medicines (asthalin, duolin, budecort etc) can be given to your child is decided by the doctor.
so your doctor will decide after eexamination whether your child needs a nebulization with these medicines or not
thus the maximum nebulization that you can give to the child writhout medical consultation is with normal saline
it is totally safe and it is not addictive
days is decided by type of cough and cold

Nebulisation can be done from the very early age itself but the medicines that you need to use the doctor would advise you correctly for them because without Dr is concerned we cannot advise you to go ahead with giving medication and nebulisation to the child
