Q.

#asktheexperts I have an issue with high breast milk production and also fast flow of milk..due to which i have pain in my breasts and needles and pins like sensations in nipples. I have to express milk from the breast many times a day and also before every feeding as it becomes difficult for baby to feed.

A. you can express small amount of milk which will help in decreasing the congestion as well as the large out flow of the milk and then might there will be proper position attachment while giving feeding. also see that you are not suffering from any nutritional deficiency like vitamin b12 and vitamin d which can cause such needle and pin prick sensation

A. You start feeding with the help of a nipple shield that helps you a lot in regulating your breastmilk as flow otherwise you can express with the help of a breast pump that will also also help if you’re feeling this kind of a terrible pain then please consult the gynaecologist it could be associated with your nerves and sometimes could be due to heavy flow and also would recommend you to do hot compress regularly
