POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 10 m old boy11 months agoA. It's good that you've consulted the pediatrician. Mild diarrhea or loose stools can sometimes occur after the Pentavalent vaccine, but it usually resolves within a few days. Since your daughter has been experiencing dysentery for an extended period, here are some things you can do to help: What You Can Do: Hydration is Key: Ensure she is getting enough breast milk or formula to prevent dehydration. Look out for signs of dehydration (dry mouth, reduced urination, sunken fontanelle). Zinc Supplements: Doctors often recommend zinc drops (10 mg per day for 10-14 days) to help recover faster. Probiotics (if prescribed): Probiotic drops can help restore good gut bacteria. Observe Symptoms: If there is blood or mucus in the stool, fever, vomiting, or signs of dehydration, seek urgent medical care. Maintain Hygiene: Wash hands before feeding and ensure bottles are properly sterilized if using formula. Since you've already consulted the pediatrician, keep monitoring her condition. If dysentery persists beyond a week, or worsens, follow up with the doctor again. Let me know if you need further advice!
