Q.

#asktheexperts Hi doctor, now I am 8th month pregnant, i got anemia and got blood transfusion during 2nd to 3rd month, doctor gave me iron supplements started in 4th month, took 1 tablet daily after that went to another doctor, she suggested me to take 2 tablets a day, total 100mg iron and 3mg folic acid( in iron tablet have 1.5mg folic acid, 50mg iron) is it too high to take 3mg folic acid during pregnancy, please suggest sir

A. It will not cause much of an issue but if the hemoglobin is infact less then instead of taking twice a Day you can instead take iv iron medications which is better

A. Mam how can I tell you that it is high or not because previously what you were taking is generally a decent amount of medicine to be taken but since your blood levels are low and maybe that is why your other gynaecologist has suggested to do it so you can go ahead with the doctor and please this is the personal advice to you just take advice from the doctor with whom you are going to go ahead with your pregnancy don’t keep on changing the doctor otherwise it is going to be trouble for you
