POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 6 m old boy6 months agoA. It's wonderful to hear that Aradia is growing up so quickly, and it's great to see your pride in her progress!
At 5 months, many babies are ready to start solids, but it's important to look for certain signs of readiness:
Head and Neck Control: She should be able to hold her head steady and sit up with support. Interest in Food: If she seems curious about what you’re eating and shows interest in food, it might be a good sign. Tongue Thrust Reflex: If she no longer automatically pushes food out of her mouth with her tongue, it's another sign that she's ready for solids. Increased Hunger: If she seems to be unsatisfied with breast milk or formula alone, it may indicate readiness for more substantial food.
If she shows these signs, you can start with simple purees like rice cereal, mashed fruits (like banana or apple), or well-cooked vegetable purees. Start one food at a time and wait for 3-5 days to observe any possible food reactions.
Always consult your pediatrician before introducing solids to ensure it's the right time for your baby. Keep up the great work, and best wishes for this exciting new stage!
