Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever wdhich needsf treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

RashmiMom of a 4 yr old child3 years agoA. As per pediatrician you can use nasal saline drops 2-3 drops in each nostrils every 3 hrs. No other medicines prescribed for newborns.

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 3 m old girl3 years agoA. hi the very first thing to cure this is to offer plenty of breastfeeds to your child. because breastmilk contains antibodies which help your child to fight against viral or bacterial Infections. you can give indirect steam. or you can apply warm paste of Turmeric powder on your child chest and back.
