A. This may due to either allergy or infection and some times due to climate changes and temperature variations . For cold you can give syp allegra 2.5 ml twice daily to the child. try to prevent temperature variations around the child and give nasal saline drops frequently for nasal blockage, simple cough and cold. Indirect steam is helpful.z Home remedies like Tulsi Ginger diluted with water combination (honey can be added after 1 year age)and turmeric with milk at least 2 times per day. Give warm watxer to drink If no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor paracetamol for fever and pain.

A. If your son has been suffering from fever and cold symptoms for 5 days, here are some steps you can take: ### **1. Monitor Symptoms** - **Temperature**: Keep track of his fever. If it persists beyond 5 days or exceeds 104°F (40°C), consult a doctor. - **Symptoms**: Note other symptoms such as cough, congestion, sore throat, or rash. ### **2. Manage Fever and Cold Symptoms** - **Hydration**: Ensure he stays well-hydrated with fluids like water, clear soups, and diluted fruit juices. - **Rest**: Encourage plenty of rest to help his body recover. - **Fever Reduction**: Use fever reducers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, according to the dosage recommended by your pediatrician. Avoid aspirin. - **Nasal Congestion**: Use a saline nasal spray or a humidifier to relieve nasal congestion. - **Warm Compress**: Apply a warm compress to his forehead if he is uncomfortable. ### **3. Home Remedies** - **Honey and Lemon**: For older children, a mixture of honey and lemon can soothe a sore throat (note: honey should not be given to children under 1 year old). - **Ginger Tea**: A mild ginger tea can be soothing if he is old enough to consume it. ### **4. Seek Medical Attention** - **Persistent Symptoms**: If his symptoms persist beyond 5 days or worsen, seek medical attention. - **Severe Symptoms**: Immediate medical consultation is needed if he experiences difficulty breathing, severe headache, rash, or if the fever is very high or recurrent. ### **5. Prevent Spread of Illness** - **Hand Hygiene**: Encourage frequent hand washing to prevent spreading the illness. - **Isolation**: Keep him away from other children to avoid spreading the infection. A pediatrician can provide specific guidance based on his symptoms and medical history.
