#asktheexpert My son is 9months old and he is having severe cold, can we have MMR vaccine during cold?

A. yes can give simple fever , cough and cold as well as simple discomfort of the child for a few days is not a contraindication for vaccination and it is advisable to go for vaccination at the earliest. the maximum you can delay would be around 2-3 weeks but after that it is advisable not to delay the vaccination if still in confusion you can meet your doctor who will examine the child and tell you whether vaccination delay is preferable or you can go for vaccination

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and you can delay it for one to two weeks and also better to consult with your local child doctor in person and also follow the instructions and prescription. Thanks and take care
