#AskTheExpert My son have profound hearing loss. which treatment is best for his future? Cochlear implant or hearing aid?

A. depending on what degree. In such cases you can talk to a doctor and get some blood tests done to reach to a conclusionsee only the doctor who can see you in person can judge what is the right status. best to trust her

A. My son too has profound hearing loss but if you are advised for CI better confirm first about its result. CI cnt help my son.. we need to do ABI which is also 50% chances. So before going for CI WE Need to do thorough examination.

Q. my baby is two years old and he is diagnosed with severe and profound hearing loss. I am going for a cochlear implant but the doctor says that after the implant baby learns slower as compared to other Cochlear implant children. Milestone of my baby is delayed and the head size is also small. The doctor suggested to me for genetic examination of my baby. Because the doctor assumes that my baby is down syndrome. My pregnancy was a high risk pregnancy but My NIPT was normal. I am worried.
