Q.

my baby is two years old and he is diagnosed with severe and profound hearing loss. I am going for a cochlear implant but the doctor says that after the implant baby learns slower as compared to other Cochlear implant children. Milestone of my baby is delayed and the head size is also small. The doctor suggested to me for genetic examination of my baby. Because the doctor assumes that my baby is down syndrome. My pregnancy was a high risk pregnancy but My NIPT was normal. I am worried.

A. Hello! There can be some kind of differences now when you compare with the normal condition. So do not overstress yourself. Just get all the treatment and the required procedures done for your child. But if you’re still concerned, maybe you can take a second opinion from another specialist.
