#AskTheExpert my son has nephrotic syndrome. we are giving steroids with decreasing quantity as time pass by, is there any other alternative medicine to it? he is 1 year 3.5 months. it started when he was 1 year old

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy4 years agoA. Nephrotic syndrome is almost always treatable, but the treatment depends on the cause. Kids with nephrotic syndrome usually are treated by a nephrologist (a doctor who specializes in kidney problems). To treat minimal change disease, the doctor will prescribe: Prednisone.
