A. Nephrotic syndrome is almost always treatable, but the treatment depends on the cause. Kids with nephrotic syndrome usually are treated by a nephrologist (a doctor who specializes in kidney problems). To treat minimal change disease, the doctor will prescribe: Prednisone.
