Q.
#asktheexpert my daughter is 5 months old . She is on complete breast feed . Since 2 days she is having frothy yellow poop 3 times in a day . This is the third time in last 3 months . What is the reason behind of this kind of stool just wanted a second opinion . My Pd doc gave superflora drops and she got healed also . Frothy stool is because of lactose intolerance in baby since I take lots of milk product daily or some other reason ?? No other symptoms only frothy stool . And second question is my PD doc suggested to start solids before 6 months, can I start solids before 6 months ?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. many times children place dirty fingers in their mouth which can cause such type of indigestion leading to more froth as well as mucus in the stool and gets corrected with the probetic that you have given.
also it is advisable that if you are giving only breastfeeding then there is no need to give any extra food till completion of 6 months of age

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 8 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. It might be due to teething in the baby. Please give homeopathic medicine BC21 to the baby. Also massage baby gums with clean cotton cloth. Please give Econorm sachet to the baby. If you see any blood spots in the poop or if the poop color changes to black or white then it is advisable to get the baby evaluated by a doctor and follow doctors advise properly.
