A. If your daughter is resistant to textured foods and only prefers purees, it’s important to take a gradual approach to help her transition to more solid textures. Start by introducing very finely mashed foods or pureed foods with slightly more texture, such as mashed bananas or avocados, which can provide a smoother transition. You can also try blending foods to a smoother consistency and then gradually reducing the blending time to incorporate small soft lumps. Encourage her to explore different textures by offering soft, finger-friendly foods like small pieces of soft-cooked vegetables, well-cooked pasta, or soft fruits, allowing her to pick them up and explore at her own pace. Make mealtime fun by presenting the foods in a colorful and engaging way, and involve her in the process by letting her help with meal preparation. Patience is key; it may take several attempts before she feels comfortable with new textures. If the situation doesn’t improve or if you have concerns about her nutrition, consider consulting a pediatrician or a pediatric nutritionist for personalized guidance.
