POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month3 months agoA. A 4-year-old weighing only 10 kg is below the ideal weight range (typically 14–18 kg), so it’s important to support her growth with nutrient-rich foods, a consistent routine, and medical evaluation if needed. Here's a practical plan to help:
✅ Key Steps to Support Her Health and Weight Gain: 🥗 1. Focus on Nutrient-Dense Foods: Healthy fats: Ghee, homemade butter, coconut oil, avocado, peanut butter. Protein-rich foods: Eggs, paneer, dal, curd, cheese, milk, chicken, fish. Whole grains: Suji, dalia, oats, ragi, rice, whole wheat roti/paratha. Fruits & vegetables: Banana, mango, papaya, sweet potato, carrot (boiled/mashed). Dry fruits: Soaked almonds, walnuts, dates, raisins – blend into milk or porridges. 🥣 2. Sample Diet Plan:
Morning (7–8 AM)
Warm milk with ghee or nuts powder 2–3 soaked almonds and 1 date
Breakfast (8:30–9:30 AM)
Stuffed paratha with curd OR Egg + toast + banana OR Upma/poha with veggies + fruit juice
Mid-morning snack (11 AM)
Fruit smoothie (banana/mango + milk) Handful of nuts/seeds chikki or laddoo
Lunch (1 PM)
Rice/roti with dal, ghee, and soft veggies Paneer or egg curry Curd or raita
Evening snack (4:30 PM)
Milk + homemade snack (idli, dosa, suji chilla, sandwich)
Dinner (7:30 PM)
Roti/rice + dal or veg curry Small portion of sweet potato or paneer
Bedtime (Optional)
Small cup of milk with jaggery or nut powder 🔍 Important Tips: Encourage active play for better appetite. Feed every 2–3 hours, including healthy snacks. Avoid junk food, chips, and sugary items. Give food in a happy, stress-free environment. Monitor for worms — deworming may help if not done recently (check with doctor). If her appetite is very low or weight doesn't improve in 2–3 months, see a pediatrician for blood tests (iron, vitamin D, thyroid, etc.).
Let me know her daily routine or any food preferences — I can make a more personalized chart.
