A. Recurrent cold and cough in an 11-month-old baby is common as their immune system is still developing. Here are some effective home remedies, prevention tips, and treatments to help strengthen your baby’s immunity. 🔹 Home Remedies for Cold & Cough (11-Month-Old Baby) ✅ Warm Ajwain (Carom Seeds) Compress Dry roast ajwain (carom seeds) and put them in a cotton cloth. Gently rub on baby’s chest, back, and feet for relief. ✅ Mustard Oil Massage (For Congestion) Warm mustard oil with garlic & ajwain and apply on chest, back, and soles before sleep. ✅ Steam Therapy (For Stuffy Nose & Cough) Keep baby in a steamy bathroom for 5-10 minutes. You can also use a humidifier in the baby’s room. ✅ Tulsi & Ginger Water (For Immunity) Boil water with tulsi leaves & a tiny piece of ginger. Give 1-2 tsp lukewarm water 2-3 times a day. ✅ Honey & Turmeric (For 1-Year-Olds Only, NOT Before 1 Year) Mix a pinch of turmeric with honey and give a small amount once daily. ✅ Breastfeeding (Best for Immunity) Continue breastfeeding as much as possible. ✅ Elevate Baby’s Head While Sleeping Keep a small pillow or elevate the head slightly to ease congestion. 🦠 Prevention Tips for Recurrent Cold ✔️ Keep baby away from sick people. ✔️ Wash hands frequently before touching baby’s face. ✔️ Give iron-rich foods (dal, ragi, leafy veggies) for better immunity. ✔️ Ensure baby gets proper sleep to fight infections. ✔️ Dress baby in appropriate layers (not too warm or cold). 🚨 When to See a Doctor? ❌ If baby has high fever (above 102°F). ❌ If cold lasts more than 10 days. ❌ If baby has fast breathing, wheezing, or chest retractions. ❌ If baby refuses to eat/drink and seems very weak. Let me know if you want diet tips for boosting immunity or medication suggestions!
