A. It's understandable that you want your baby to eat well without adding salt, but it's common for babies to develop preferences for certain tastes. Since your baby is not eating without a pinch of salt, here are some alternatives to consider: 1. Gradual Reduction: Try gradually reducing the amount of salt you add. This might help your baby get used to less salty flavors over time. 2. Herbs and Spices: Use mild herbs and spices like cinnamon, turmeric, or cumin to enhance the flavor of the food without adding salt. 3. Flavorful Foods: Offer naturally flavorful foods like sweet potatoes, carrots, or peas, which might be more appealing even without added salt. 4. Variety: Ensure you offer a variety of foods to help your baby get accustomed to different tastes and textures. 5. Consult a Pediatrician: If you’re concerned about your baby’s eating habits or nutritional intake, consult your pediatrician for personalized advice and recommendations. It's good that you're avoiding added sugars and relying on the natural sweetness of fruits. Just be cautious with salt and aim to limit its use to help develop healthy eating habits.
