Q.

#asktheexpert My 2 year old caught a cold suddenly since morning so I gave her 1ml Mucolite at night before bed.. sometimes when my 6 month old has fever or cold I give him too medicine by myself looking at previous prescription dosage.. Can I give cold and fever medicine like this on my own without consulting doctor each time?

A. Hello , your baby girl is 25 months old and she is having a cold and fever since morning so don’t worry it’s not a serious problem but don’t give medicine on your own but consult with paediatrician

A. Yes See with every age the medicine and the dosage changes so if you have recently visited your doctor for the same issue then you can give the same medicine but do not give any antibiotic to the child without consulting the doctor otherwise it would be advisable to get in touch with your paediatrician once again if needed
