Q.

#AskTheExpert My 10 month old son had an eye check up recently and before the appointment, as per Doctor's advice, I had applied Atropine Sulphate 1% ointment to both his eyes, once a day for for 3 days . He is now struggling to open his eyes in sunlight. Even standing by the window his eyes are getting irritated. Till when will his pupil be dilated ? When will he lose this sensitivity to light ?

A. It Mostly is for several hours only normally after 5 to 7 hours the eyes become normal for a child or even for an adult you can clean the eyes with water if you want to but the dilation is going to take some time to subside so you can approximately take it for someone around 6 to 8 hours in general
