#asktheexpert I want to ask my son is 4 years 7 months old but he cannot make long sentences, he speak he understand everything, he Make word but not like 5 years old boy what should we do

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. proper language / speech development will start between 18 months of age to 3 years of age.
there is no need to worry before that just concentrate on the diet and regular interaction with the child.
also speech and language develops properly with more people available to interact with the child
avoid usage of tv mobile and laptop because they are the most common reasons for delayed speech and language development.
the most important thing is that before speech, understanding of the commands given by the parents should be present.
by 18 months if the chxild is not following basic commands then only you have to meet the doctor for speech and development assessment.
requirement of speech therapy will also be discussed by your doctor.

Then practice with your child will teach your child to frame a sentence suppose using what is your name instead of saying the name you have to say my name is this slowly make your child read good books which are specifically for small kids where they can connect two words to frame sentence help your child to learn to frame sentences and your child would do it it’s a normal thing not a problem for you to be so worried about
