#AskTheExpert i have been having heavy bleeding during periods, to combat it dr had put me on contraceptive pills. it had been 5yrs now. How long can i continue to take them? Also i stopped twice for 3 months but excessive bleeding started.

A. I think it is better that you go with intrauterine contraceptive device as well as progesterone containing device called as mirena. This will help in reducing the bleeding episodes and also the side effects of Hormonal contraceptive pills will reduce relativelyWrite Your Answer Here
