A. Good head control, able to sit up with support and lastly reaches out for food and or able to bring objects to his/her mouth. Also please don’t give rice or dal water. It doesn’t contain any nutrients. Instead make home cerelac as base and you can mix it with various fruit or vegetable mash if you want. Thoroughly wash rice, dal (mix all dal because a single type of dal only has a single type of protein and the baby at this age requires protein the maximum to grow). Sun dry this and create a powder. You can use this whenever required by cooking with a bit of water. You can add nuts powder as well but please have it created separately and try different nuts at a time to make sure your child isn’t allergic. Happy solid food journey.

A. Hi, you can start solids when the baby turns 6 months old. you can give rice water, daal water, ragi porridge, sooji kheer, fruit juices, vegetables soup etc. ensure you include all seasonal fruits and vegetables. also try 3 days trial to see if the foods suits the baby and he doesn't have any allergies. thanks
