Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper efvaluation by the doctor is done and according to the tcype of cough its prescribed.
if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

but depends on your child Health condition and immune system.
so please give Luke warm water to drink
give indirect steam.
you can give mixture of honey and ginger in one tsp quantity twice in a day
