Q.

#AskTheExpert Hi , My baby is 20 days old,which is late preterm delivery she is not latching properly but when we give her expressed milk she is drinking it properly.. Why is it so.. I have tried many ways for latching properly but no improvement.. How to overcome this?

A. It will take time dear. sometimes and it could happen if baby is uncomfortable the other side or is not able to latch well or the flow could be more or less or nipple could be small or big. Just try to hold baby conveniently and try once. Slowly they will use it when they are comfortable. Or it can be if you have flat or inverted nipples, your baby may struggle to latch on. Go for a nipple shield that your baby is comfortable to suck else it may be difficult for baby to suck you can even take help from your doctor to chose the right one
