#AskTheExpert Hi. My 6 month old son and 5 year old daughter is having cold for about 1 month. It is not getting cured even after giving antibiotics. what to do?

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescrtyibed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be givden to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

A. hi first for 6 months old ,j advise to apply Babyhug rapid relief rub on chest and back of your child give more and more breastfeeds ,it contains antibodies which definitely help to cure this. give Sunbath for 20 minutes a day
