A. For a 3-month-old baby with a cold, it's best to avoid self-medicating and consult a pediatrician before giving any medicine. However, you can try the following home remedies to ease her discomfort: Home Remedies for a Baby's Cold: Saline Drops & Nasal Aspirator – Use saline nasal drops (like Nasivion saline) to clear her blocked nose. After a few minutes, use a nasal aspirator to remove mucus gently. Steam Inhalation – Sit with your baby in a steamy bathroom (not too hot) for a few minutes to help loosen mucus. Breastfeeding – Continue breastfeeding frequently, as it provides immunity and keeps her hydrated. Keep Her Head Elevated – Hold her slightly upright while she sleeps to ease breathing. Use a Humidifier – A humidifier in the room can keep the air moist and reduce congestion. Warm Mustard Oil Massage – Gently massage her chest, back, and feet with warm mustard oil infused with garlic for relief. Ajwain (Carom Seeds) Potli – Warm a small cloth with roasted ajwain and keep it near her cot for mild relief. When to See a Doctor: Fever above 100.4°F (38°C) Difficulty breathing or wheezing Refusing feeds or showing signs of dehydration Persistent cough or cold lasting more than 10 days If her symptoms worsen, the doctor may prescribe saline drops, nasal decongestants, or mild medications based on her condition. Let me know if you notice any other symptoms.
