#asktheexpert hi doctor, plz advice for the precautions for cold and cough for Avyansh and also precautions while he travels with us in flight or train. Thanks

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained . in the current situation you should gvive a healthy diet to the children maintain a good hygiene also give vitamin c and zinc supplement suggested by the doctor and avoid exposure of children outside
