A. it is in diagnosis of allergic cough cold . here the child will have regular cough and cold which is usually not associated with fever . it increases and decreases but does not get cured completely. dr will give anti allergic medicine usually motelukast / levocetirizine. if its still not improving the next line of treatment will be inhaler therapy with mdi / nebulizer. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ colxd water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning.

A. For a 10-month-old who frequently catches colds and coughs, here are some steps you can take to help manage and prevent these issues: ### **1. **Manage Symptoms at Home** - **Hydration**: Ensure your baby stays well-hydrated with breast milk, formula, or water. - **Humidifier**: Use a cool-mist humidifier in the baby’s room to keep the air moist and help with congestion. - **Nasal Suction**: Use a nasal aspirator or saline drops to help clear nasal congestion. - **Elevate Head**: Slightly elevate the head of the crib mattress to help with breathing while sleeping. - **Comfort Measures**: Offer comfort and ensure your baby is dressed in lightweight, breathable clothing. ### **2. **Monitor for Severe Symptoms** - **Seek Medical Attention**: Contact your pediatrician if your baby has: - A high fever that lasts more than a few days. - Difficulty breathing or wheezing. - Persistent cough that doesn’t improve. - Signs of dehydration (e.g., fewer wet diapers). ### **3. **Preventive Measures** - **Hand Hygiene**: Encourage regular hand washing for family members and avoid close contact with sick individuals. - **Avoiding Germs**: Keep your baby away from crowded places during cold and flu season. - **Vaccinations**: Ensure your baby is up-to-date with vaccinations, including the flu vaccine, as recommended by your pediatrician. ### **4. **Feeding and Nutrition** - **Balanced Diet**: Offer a variety of fruits and vegetables to support the immune system. - **Breast Milk/Formula**: Continue providing breast milk or formula, as it contains essential nutrients and antibodies. ### **5. **Comforting Remedies** - **Warm Baths**: A warm bath can help relax your baby and ease some cold symptoms. - **Honey**: For babies over 1 year old, a small amount of honey can help soothe a cough. Consult your doctor before introducing honey if you’re unsure. ### **6. **Consult Your Pediatrician** - **Frequent Illness**: If your baby frequently catches colds, discuss it with your pediatrician. They may check for any underlying conditions or provide additional advice on managing and preventing frequent illnesses. Frequent colds in young children are common as their immune systems are still developing. By following these tips and maintaining good hygiene, you can help manage your baby’s symptoms and reduce the frequency of illnesses.
